One last thing before I take off.

The University of Washington's affordability maps have a neat little extra, which maps average yearly gas spending by Census block group. Depress yourself here. Gas stuff is under advanced on the H+T Index, or "Additional: Gas Cost Impacts."

Woe the people of Snohomish County's Woods Lake, who already were spending over $3,000/year on gas in 2000 -- before prices nearly doubled everywhere.
